###  ***[Ayn Soukhna (Egypt): the camp of the pharaonic intermittent harbour](/ayn-soukhna-egypt-camp-pharaonic-intermittent-harbour-0)***

 **Dr. Claire Somaglino** has been associate professor in Egyptology at Sorbonne University since 2011. She is an historian and archaeologist and a former member of the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology in Cairo. A member of the French-Egyptian Mission of Ayn Soukhna since 2011, she took over the co-direction of the mission in 2017. She also participated in other archaeological missions in Egypt and Sudan, in particular on the site of Plinthine on the Mediterranean coast. She is a specialist of Egyptian margins and borders during the Pharaonic Periods, and of the ancient Egyptian’s perception of space.
