**Kate Liszka** is Professor of History and the Benson and Pamela Harer Fellow in Egyptology at California State University, San Bernardino. She is the Director of the Wadi el-Hudi Expedition and a specialist in ancient Egyptian social history, identity, and desert archaeology. Holding a Ph.D. in Egyptology from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Liszka has led research across Egypt’s Eastern Desert, focusing on the movement, labor, and interactions of marginalized and mobile groups in antiquity. Her work integrates archaeological fieldwork with historical and textual analysis to reconstruct the lives of those often overlooked in traditional Egyptology.
