**Dr. Marta Luciani**, is Professor for the Archaeology of Western Asia at the Department of Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology of the University of Vienna and Spokesperson of the ‘Archaeology and Material Culture’ cluster of the Vienna Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies. She is the lead researcher for the Shelby White and Leon Levy Program project for the publication **Unearthing Qurayyah I**. Since 2014 she has headed the Qurayyah Joint Ar­ch­ae­o­lo­gical Project in cooperation with the Heritage Commission (Ministry of Culture, KSA). She has lead archaeological field work in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Italy. Dr. Marta Luciani will both finish the writing of some chapters and coordinate the contributions of various researchers, the completion of the photographic and graphic documentation of some notable finds, and oversee the development of the database and the consequent electronic publication of the material, as well as the production and publication of the monograph.
