###  ***[Old Kandahar: An Archaeological Reappraisal](/old-kandahar-archaeological-reappraisal)***

 **Michele Minardi** earned his PhD in the archaeology of pre-Islamic Central Asia at Sydney University, Australia (2013) and he is currently Research Associate at the Ausonius Institute, University of Bordeaux Montaigne, France, member of the new ISMEO (Rome), Field Director and Survey Manager of the Karakalpak-Australian Expedition to Ancient Chorasmia (KAE, since 2010), and Co-PI in the Australian Research Council Grant “Shifting the Foundation of Zoroastrian History”. Prior to this, he has been Research Associate at University of Sydney and Excellence Initiative Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Bordeaux, France.
