The Archaic complex on the south slope. Private and communal spaces on the Patela of Priniàs

Dr. Antonella Pautasso is a classical archaeologist; her main field of research is Greek archaeology, with a special concern with Iron Age and Archaic Crete and Archaic and Classical Greek Sicily. She has been a member of the Italian Archaeological Mission at Priniàs since 1994 and Vice Director since 2017. She directed the new excavation in the area of the temple A and is actually responsible of the project of study and publication of the Siderospilia necropolis.

She has been the P.I. of some international projects concerning the rise of the Cretan polis with the CNRS-MISHA, Cretan coroplastic production with DFG, and P.I. of the Italian-Greek joint laboratory for archaeometric investigations on Cretan Iron Age pottery with Demokritos. 

She is a senior researcher of the Institute of Heritage Sciences (ISPC) of the Italian National Council of Researches (CNR) in Catania. In 2017 she obtained the national abilitation as Full Professor of Classical Archaeology.
