Tel Hadar: A Bronze and Iron Age Community in the Central Levant: The Moshe Kochavi and Pirhiya Beck Excavations (1987–1998)

Assaf Kleiman is a senior lecturer for the Archaeology of the Bronze and Iron Ages in the Levant at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His main research interests and scope of publications are the settlement history, material culture, and inter-regional contacts of complex communities in the Iron Age Levant. He is the author of Beyond Israel and Aram: The Archaeology and History of Iron Age Communities in the Central Levant (published by Mohr Siebeck). Assaf Kleiman has extensive fieldwork experience and excavated in several important sites across Israel, including Tel Megiddo, Kiriath-Jearim, and Tel Azekah. Currently, he directs the excavations of Tell el-Badawiya/Hannathon in the Lower Galilee. He also leads the publication projects of the Moshe Kochavi and Pirhiya Beck excavations at Tel Hadar and of the Late Iron Age remains exposed in the renewed excavations of Tel Megiddo.
