Dr. Christopher Dickenson is a lecturer in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology at the University of Gröningen. He specializes in the public space and public culture of the cities of the Greek world in the Hellenistic and Roman periods (c.300 BC to 200 AD). He has produced a book tracing the development of the Greek agora across these centuries. His current research focuses on publicness in the Roman Empire as well as the meaning of statues and monuments in Greek and Roman culture.
