Dr. Federica Ugliano currently holds the position of curator at the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy. She obtained a MA in Classics and Archaeology at the University of Milan (Italy) and a second MA in Egyptian Archaeology at UCL (London, UK). In 2016, she was awarded a Ph.D. in Humanities (Archaeology) from the University of Trento (Italy), with a dissertation dedicated to the comprehensive study of the museum’s Predynastic collection, the reinstallation of which she also curated in 2015. Over the years, she has conducted research both within academic institutions and research centers—including the University of Pisa and the Institute of Heritage Science of the National Research Council (ISPC-CNR)—while continuing her in-depth study of the Museo Egizio’s collection. She has taken part in numerous archaeological excavations in Italy and Egypt (Luxor, Abydos, and Heliopolis). Her main research interests include the material culture of the Predynastic period, the history of early 20th-century archaeological research, and the study of Egyptological archives.
