Jon M. Frey is a classical archaeologist specializing in the architectural history of ancient Greece and Rome, with a particular interest in the practice of architectural reuse throughout classical and post-classical antiquity.  He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art, Art History and Design at Michigan State University. Over the past three decades, he has participated in fieldwork at a number of projects in Greece and Egypt. In 2020, he became the director of the Michigan State University Excavations at Isthmia, an archaeological project in the northeastern Peloponnesus in Greece. He is currently focused on the application of digital technologies in archaeology, both at the fieldwork stage and in the development of dynamic archives that can support non-traditional uses of archaeological information.
