Michel Al-Maqdissi has been a researcher at the Department of Oriental Antiquities at the Louvre Museum since 2014. He has directed several archaeological missions in Syria in Tell Sianu, Mishirfeh-Qatna, Amrith and Palmyra, and led the Service des fouilles et études archéologiques in the Direction Générale des Antiquités et des Musées of Syria from 2000 to 2012.
