Anna Georgiadou

Dr. Anna Georgiadou is a research scientist at the Archaeological Research Unit, University of Cyprus. She holds a BA degree in Archaeology and History of Art (2005) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She pursued postgraduate studies in Mediterranean Archaeology, at the University of Aix-Marseille (2006-2007), and completed her doctoral studies at the same university in international cotutelle with the University of Athens (2013). Her research interests include material culture studies, pottery typology, technology, production, distribution and consumption in Iron Age Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean, as well as Iron Age chronology and eastern Mediterranean interconnections. She has disseminated her research in numerous lectures and academic publications.
Dr. Georgiadou worked as post-doctoral researcher at the University of Haifa, Zinman Institute of Archaeology, in 2014, and, between 2015-2017 at the Maison de l’Orient et de la Méditerranée, HiSOMA, Université Lyon 2. Since 2018, she has been affiliated with the university of Cyprus as a principal investigator, coordinator and collaborator on various research projects, as well as a teaching associate. During 2024-2025, she was also a research fellow at the HiSOMA, University Lyon 2. She has participated in and been involved with numerous research and excavation projects in Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Lebanon. Within the framework of the Hill of Agios Georgios settlement publication project, she will oversee the development of the database and the digitalization of the material, as well as undertake the study of the pottery remains.
