Tell al-Wilayah: the 2002 Iraqi State Board of Antiquities Excavation Season and its Wider Context
Dr. Christina Tsouparopoulou is Assistant Professor in Near Eastern Archaeology at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and Honorary Fellow at Durham University. She holds a PhD in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from the University of Cambridge and has held research and teaching posts at Cambridge, Durham, Newcastle, Heidelberg, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. Her research focuses on the archaeology and history of Mesopotamia during the third millennium BCE, with particular emphasis on the integration of cuneiform archives with material culture, religion, sealing practices, and the reconstruction of early urban societies. Dr. Tsouparopoulou has secured major research funding from the Swedish Research Council, Horizon 2020, the Polish National Science Center, and other institutions. She is the Editor of ASOR’s Near Eastern Archaeology and has authored and co-edited five books, and over 30 peer-reviewed articles.
