Dr. Mark Weeden is Associate Professor of Ancient Middle Eastern Languages at University College London. He specializes in the languages, literature, and history of Mesopotamia and Anatolia, with a particular focus on Akkadian, Sumerian, and Hittite cultures. His research combines philological expertise with archaeological approaches to explore the development of writing systems, administrative practices, and cultural interactions across the ancient Near East. Dr. Weeden has published widely, including a monograph on Hittite logography, an edited volume on landscape and geography in the ancient Near East, and numerous articles.
