Sergio Alarcón Robledo

Sergio Alarcón Robledo is an archaeologist of Egypt and trained architect (MArch), whose research focuses on understanding the entanglement between architecture and ritual practices during the Early Dynastic Period. He received his PhD degree in Egyptology from Harvard University, and will soon be appointed Postdoctoral Associate of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Yale University. Sergio has extensive field experience, including work at sites like the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari, the Middle Kingdom tombs of Qubbet el-Hawa and Western Thebes, and the minor step pyramid of Zawyet Sultan. He leads a field project that investigates the North Saqqara plateau, with a particular focus on researching the archives of previous excavations at the site.
